Brantford has many great neighbourhoods, and Eagle Place is one of them that has been on the rise as of late.
The area has been growing and expanding to accommodate families of all sizes. With playgrounds for kids, schools and being close to many amenities, it is a great neighbourhood to settle down in and enjoy life with family and friends.
Eagle Place has a rich history for industries in the city.
A prime location for factories in the late 19th century and early 1900s, Eagle Place helped Brantford become the third largest exporting city in Canada. Several factories were built to employ many workers to produce many items that would allow the community to get by through the Great Depression. While there was a slight slump in production, it disappeared when factories were retooled to help during the Second World War, where they would make supplies for the military. Plows, reapers, binders, stoves and ladders were just some of the things that were produced in factories throughout Eagle Place to help the community and city thrive.
The factories would bring the need for housing for the employees, which would see homes built in the style similar to the Ontario cottage, known as the Brantford cottage, started to appear in Eagle Place with the one level center-hall plan. With the Grand River on three sides of the area, there are great trails to walk and take in the sights and sounds of the bustling neighbourhood.
Throughout the neighbourhood, there are many houses that have kept their historical exterior, giving them a sophisticated, homey feel. While they have been updated and modernized, most of the cottage-like homes are perfect for families and retirees. With the many trails, schools and amenities, Eagle Place is home to families of all sizes in either newly-built homes, apartment buildings, or renovated bungalows that will suit the needs of anyone wanting to enjoy the neighbourhood.
When it comes to the things to enjoy in the area, there is something for every age group. Families can enjoy a summer day at Earl Haig Family Fun Park for a swim, mini golf, or go-kart racing. There are also many trails that begin in Eagle Place that allow walkers, joggers, and bicyclists the chance to enjoy nature. For shopping, there is the Brantford Common that has a grocery store, a dollar store, a hair salon, a pet store, as well as many restaurants and beer and liquor stores. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Brantford Elements Casino is also right across the street from Brantford Common, as well the Civic Centre, which hosts hockey, a carnival, as well as other amounts.
Eagle Place is a neighbourhood that could bring family, friends, or retirees the peace they need with many fun things to do close to their homes and schools. If you’re interested in finding your dream home in Eagle Place, contact Ashlee today.
