The other day, while scrolling through my Facebook feed, I stumbled upon a post that caught my attention. It was a question posed by someone asking for recommendations on the best restaurants in town. As a food enthusiast, I couldn’t resist reading through the comments and was pleasantly surprised by the numerous suggestions people shared.
After going through all the recommendations, I compiled a list of the top five restaurants that seemed to be the most popular among the commenters, and I’m excited to share this list with all of you, along with a few notes of my own.
Speekezzies Cafe & Wine Bar
If you want a fantastic dining experience, check out Speekezzies, a charming and cozy restaurant with a Mediterranean feel. The food is of the highest quality, with each dish offering unique and delicious flavours that will leave your taste buds wanting more. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed by the quality and taste of the food at this fantastic spot!
Devlin’s Country Bistro
If you’re looking for an elegant and romantic dining experience, I highly recommend checking out Devlin’s Bistro. The ambiance is fancy yet business casual. The menu features excellent options with fresh ingredients, with plenty of flavourful dishes to choose from. The staff are fantastic and will check in frequently throughout the meal. While the pricing is a bit costly, it’s well worth it for the quality of the food and the overall experience. Devlin’s Bistro is the perfect spot for a special occasion or romantic date night; we can’t wait to return.
Zander’s Fire Grill & Brew Lounge
This local gem has something for everyone on the menu, with generous portions at reasonable prices. The loaded pierogi bites and flatbread are a must-order when you go, and you even have leftovers for lunch the next day! The service staff are pleasant and prompt with orders and helpful in selections. Zanders is also kid-friendly and offers many options for even the pickiest of eaters. The ambiance is fun for all. I’ve never had a bad meal at Zanders and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food and a great selection.
Hudson Public
Hudson Public should definitely be on your list if you’re going out with friends. Their menu has various options, with generous portions and very reasonable prices. Whether you’re looking for appetizers or a full meal, the food is exceptional, and the service is friendly and accommodating. If you are there on the weekend, you will have live music that adds to the great atmosphere. It’s a perfect place to hang out with family and friends or even for a date night. And with gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options, everyone will find something to enjoy.
Gran Sasso Restaurant
Gran Sasso is a must-visit if you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine in the Brantford area. With friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere, you’ll feel like you’re dining at a little bistro in Italy. The pizzas are incredibly delicious, but don’t hesitate to try their other dishes like the Aranchini, lasagna, and Filomena – they’re all cooked to perfection. Plus, they offer gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions. Whether you dine in or take out, you’ll have a wonderful experience at Gran Sasso. So, if you’re looking for a great meal with exceptional service, check them out.
I cannot end this blog without mentioning some of the honourable mentions shared by people in Brantford. The Olde School House Restaurant, Cafe Andreou, The Dragon in St George, and Still Waters in Paris are all highly recommended by locals and visitors alike. Each restaurant has its unique style and cuisine, but they all share some great qualities; food and service.
